Academic Work Experience
2019 – Present. Graduate Research Assistantship, Texas State Historical Association, Handbook of Texas.
As a Research Assistant, I write short biographical and historical entries for the Handbook of Texas on a variety of Texas history topics ranging from San Antonio’s first Canary Island settlers to 1960s Civil Rights activists in Dallas-Ft. Worth. I also contribute to an ongoing effort to insert links within each entry in the Handbook in order to create more traffic for the website. This entails learning basic HTML and how to navigate the content management program used by the TSHA.
2018 – Present. ClioVis Fellow and Program Coordinator, University of Texas, Austin
ClioVis enables users to combine the best features of timelines, mind mapping, and network visualization tools to help users collaborate on projects, better understand and organize their research materials, and present their findings to external audiences. As a Program Coordinator, I oversee and assist various professors and graduate students implementing ClioVis in their classrooms across the U.S.
